Rare Snow & an Early Vacation

img_2255December 14, the snow began falling at 1:30 in the afternoon.  Fine flakes and whipping wind kept the snow from sticking to the roads and gave us a sense of comfort that we should not have had.  Schools stayed in session which was, with hindsight, not a good thing.

I left for home just after 3:00 and arrived at the end of my 35 minute drive three and a half hours later after leaving my car parked at the bottom of the Oregon City hills.

Today school was cancelled.  We built a fire, listened to seasonal music and made cookies.  The Spritz cookies are done and the dough for the sugar and gingerbread cookies is chilling.  The temperature never made it above freezing so the snow didn’t melt – school is cancelled again tomorrow so our holiday vacation has begun!
